Music and Theatre from the Jewish archive
Jerusalem (Jubilee) Synagogue, Prague
The Holocaust in the Czech lands destroyed lives and traditions: the lives of children interned in the Terezín ghetto and the tradition of sacred music in Prague’s synagogues. In this concert, Táňa Fischerová and Daniel Dobiáš bring to life poems written by the children held at Terezín in new arrangements by Daniel. A a choir visiting from England, the Clothworkers Consort of Leeds, performs recently rediscovered music from Prague’s synagogues that had been lost during the Holocaust.
